Undergraduate High Achievers Program
Chief of Defence Force Student Programs (CDFSP)
UNSW@ADFA has introduced a suite of exciting and stimulating programs designed for high-performing students, either entering ADFA with a high Entrance Rank (UAI) or those who achieve a high Weighted Average Mark (WAM) in their first year of study.
The aim of the program is to build a strong research culture into a high achievers degree by developing critical thinking and independent research skills beyond that available in the existing undergraduate degree programs. Like all undergraduate degrees taken at UNSW@ADFA, the CDFSP is taken in parallel with Academy military training.
All students enrolling in the CDFSP are expected to maintain a high level of academic and military performance over all sessions in order to remain within the program. This requirement varies across the different degree programs. Students who do not maintain the required level of performance will be transferred to the standard degree program offered at the Academy with credit for all courses completed.
Structure of the Programs
The programs will combine cohort activities and an introduction to research methodology in first year and individually tailored research projects in later years that complement students' interests and major disciplines of study. Students in the program will work closely with individual academic staff in a stream of research-based courses.
